Following is the image of dish prior to the repair:
To begin the repair, the existing glasses were first broken down by brute force.
Then, the system was painted and cleaned.
And finally, glass pieces of dimension 203mm x 183mm x3mm were bought from pune. The make was ‘Modi glass’. Smaller and odd dimension glasses were neglected at this stage of repair. The glasses could be slided with some small effort into the 3mm slotted aluminium channels. Here you can see one person (DBRT student Vinayak) sliding the glasses whereas another person (DBRT student Sumit) cleaning the aluminium slots of broken glasses using kerosene and also supplying the glass pieces.
Finally, the completed mirror looks like this.
